Overview of Canvas

What is Canvas?

Canvas is the main design area on a simple floor plan. You reach the canvas, when you either click on “New Project” or an existing project to edit. This is the place where you create your designs or edit your already created designs. The Canvas has many tools, shortcuts, views, and intelligent features to make designing easier and helpful for space planning. Below is a list of tools/icons which you will find on a canvas:

Functions on Sidebar
Catalogue is a repository of all pre-modeled furniture, structural elements, storage items such as wall cabinets, paints, wall finishes, etc. to help you create a design. After you have created a floor plan, you will need to search the item you want to use and then drag-and-drop them on the floor plan along with furniture, wall finishes. This can be done from catalogue icon. Our repository is an ever-growing list, where hundreds of new items will be added every month.

Shortlist

This option helps you add all selected products from the catalogue to your shortlist. This especially helps when you want to pick and add multiple products for your project without the hassle of going through the entire catalogue again and again. For example, if you want to add a bed, carpet and side tables to your bedroom, you can shortlist these items from the catalogue and then simply drag and drop from the shortlist

You can choose either specific products from these pre-modeled designs or copy-paste the entire model onto your project.

Upload Floor Plan This tool helps you upload your scanned floor plan onto the Neo canvas. Currently, Foyr NEO supports scanned images in JPG(JPEG)/PNG format only. If you have your floor plan in any other format like Autocad or PDF, you will need to export them first in an image format (or take a snapshot and save it) before using it in Foyr Neo. Once you upload the floor plan, this is an easy way for you to trace the floor plan and draw using the wall tool or room tool on top of the floor plan.

For more details on how to upload simple floor plans, please refer to the help guide on the same subject.
